What is the Class Shopping Cart?
The Class Shopping Cart is a brand new feature that allows our students to quickly and easily keep a list of classes that interest them. It works very much like any online shopping cart that you have probably used on commercial sites. As you browse or search through the online class schedule and you find a class that looks interesting, just click on following button that appears next to every class:
We'll keep the list ready for you to review, delete, or modify at any time. The classes appear in a list format and are also displayed in a very helpful day/time grid so you can easily see where the classes fit within your schedule. When your registration appointment time arrives, just log into MySite, go to the web registration page, and your list will be waiting for you. With one click, you can enroll in all of the classes in your list (assuming there are empty seats and you are allowed in the class). The classes are automatically removed from the cart when you enroll using web registration.
That alone would be very cool, but we've added some other features that we think you are going to love. Check these out:
Return to Schedule: Clicking on this button will return you back to the same page you were browsing in the class schedule so you can continue adding classes to your cart.
Pre-Registration Check: This feature allows you to perform a complete pre-registration review of all of the classes in your cart. We'll do the same comprehensive checks that are performed during registration (like time conflicts, prerequisites, corequisites, repeatability, etc). This way you can discover any problems early and make modifications before you even begin the registration process.
Go to MySite Registration: If your appointment time has started, you can click on this button and go straight to the web registration page in MySite, without having to log in again. We'll print your personal appointment start date/time under this button so you'll know exactly when you can use this feature.
Daily Status Report Email: You can keep track of the status of the classes in your cart by requesting a daily status report to be sent to your college email address within the Start Date and End Date that you specify. The email will display the current status of the classes and how many seats are left if it's still open.
The Class Shopping Cart is only available to active students at Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College, so if you are not an active student, you'll need to apply using the links provided on the college home page.
